People often ask me if children’s books have any resale value. Whatever is popular, such as fairy books for girls and Thomas the Tank Engine for boys, do have some resale value depending on the book’s condition and age. If the book is new, popular and in mint condition then there’s a chance of getting half if its value back. Or if it’s in good condition but old - such as Rupert the Bear books, then there’s also demand for second-hand books.
I’ve sold Pony Pal books, Mercer Mayer books, Beatrix Potter, hardcover Disney, and Geronimo Stilton books on behalf of my daughter. Most of the books have sold between $5 and $10 so it’s great pocket-money for children if you can be bothered listing the titles and photos on Trademe.
Ladybird books also have resale but deserve a separate blog as many of the older titles are rare and collectible.
