Marutomoware made in Japan

My op shop buy of the day is this cute bowl with lid made in Japan during the 1920s to 1930s. I have never seen this style of china before so it was an interesting find. I knew it was old because of all the crazy cracking inside the bowl.

Salvation Army Family Store – Tauranga

Down in the Brookfield shopping centre beside the supermarket, this large op shop is clean and well organised. Clothes were $3 each. Lots of kitchen stuff – plates, cups, knives, forks etc. Unusual find was a doll’s chair made from a used drink can. These were a popular craft item in the 1980s.

Crown Lynn

IMG_1447Crown Lynn: I’ve bought 3 soup mugs, a tea cup and saucer, and a couple of mugs during a couple of weeks op shopping. I’ve rarely seen Crown Lynn items in op shops over the years. It’s strange how you can have a ‘run’ on items.
